The Small Business Awards Foundation, Inc. is a Virginia 501(c)(3) composed of all volunteers to conduct an annual awards luncheon to recognize small business persons and advocates selected by the Richmond District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration.
The historic five-star Jefferson Hotel in Richmond was the setting for the 2009 Small Business Awards Luncheon on Friday, May 8, 2009. A crowd of 345 business and community leaders celebrated Virginia Small Business Week and honored this year's small business and lender award winners.
Mistress of Ceremonies, Amie McLain, news anchor of WRIC TV 8, welcomed the 345 guests and award winners and presided over the program. Mr. Gordy Fox, Founder and CEO of Home Care Delivered, Inc., offered the keynote address. Other highlights included the Lender’s Awards, Small Business Champion Awards and the recognition of J. Douglas Call, President, Virginia Prosthetics, as the "Virginia Small Business Person of the Year".
Nominations for the 2010 Virginia Small Business Persons and Advocates of the Year are now open. Every year since 1963, the President has proclaimed National Small Business Week to recognize the contributions of small businesses to the economic well-being of America. Each year, the U.S. Small Business Administration recognizes this special impact made by outstanding small business owners, and by champions of America's entrepreneurs. We ask for your assistance in finding, and nominating candidates for these awards.
Nominations must be received in the Richmond District Office no later than November 13, 2009.
