In recognition of the small business community’s contribution to the American economy and
society, the President of the United States designates one week each year as National Small
Business Week. Small Business Week 2009 was celebrated the week of May 17. Leading up
to National Small Business Week the U.S. Small Business Administration, in conjunction with public - and private-sector small business supporters, hosts special events at the local and state levels to honor and present awards to the nation’s entrepreneurs and those who support and champion small business. Many of the award winners from those local and state events will be invited to Washington, D.C. for SBW ‘09 — Celebrating National Small Business Week.
The award winners of the Richmond District Office were honored at the 2009 Virginia Small Business Awards Luncheon on Friday, May 8, 2009 at the Jefferson Hotel in Richmond. The leading Virginia SBA Lenders, Small Business Champions, and Small Business Person of the Year were honored during the event. The Luncheon Program included Entrepreneurial Remarks by a special guest as well as the Small Business Person of the year.
We are a small, all-volunteer organization with no overhead costs that relies on advocates and supporters such as you to make this celebration of Virginia small business a reality. We hope that you will consider becoming a Gold Sponsor for the 2010 Small Business Awards Luncheon. It is through the support of corporate donors like you that we are able to continue making this a memorable event for all, especially the award winners. In May 2009 we filled the Grand Ballroom to capacity and anticipate a similar response in 2010. Gold sponsorships in the amount of $2,500 are the level of participation offered to our business supporters.
